Email delivery can be a confusing concept for those who are unfamiliar with server configurations and settings. Many problems can arise when attempting to transfer email from one location to another, and understanding how to properly set up an email delivery system is key to successful and reliable email operations.

Gigbuilder maintains a well-built relay server to make sure your messages get to their destination with ease.  It isn't perfect as no email system can be, but it contains email delivery controls so at least you'll know if a message didn't make it.

As long as you use Gigbuilder's servers, you'll have the least amount of issues.  However, you can setup your own mail relay using your company's email.  Do so at your own risk.

Reasons why Remote Servers Would Refuse Email

There are several reasons why a remote server may refuse your email. One of the most common reasons is due to a lack of authentication or incorrect authentication. If an email is received from a server that does not have valid SPF/DKIM records set up, it can trigger a server to reject the message. Another reason a server can reject an incoming mail is because the domain name does not match the originator address. If an email comes from a domain that does not correspond to the sender address, a server may reject the mail as spam. Finally, if the content of the message is deemed inappropriate or potentially malicious, a server can reject the incoming email. This includes messages containing malicious attachments, offensive words, viruses, or links to malicious websites. Most modern email clients have built-in anti-spam filters, but some messages can still pass through undetected. In such cases, it is important to contact the email provider to report the issue appropriately. In conclusion, email delivery can be complicated and require some knowledge of DNS entries, authentication, and other configurations. It is important to ensure that your DNS records and other configurations are set properly in order to ensure reliable delivery. Additionally, understanding the numerous reasons why a remote server may reject an email allows users to troubleshoot and fix common issues with email delivery.
